International activities
One of the major fields of international activities of the FTUB is further development of the cooperation with the International Labor Organization and studying large and valuable experience of the ILO in wide range of spheres related to labor relations and defense of workers interests.
Representatives of the FTUB participate actively in International Labor Conferences of the ILO. The FTUB intends to use the ILO’s potential more effectively, giving special attention to the issues of providing every worker the right for decent work; remuneration of labor; pension provision; improving living standards of workers; creating conditions for complete and productive employment; providing equal rights for men, women and youth; activities of trade unions in transnational corporations and free economic zones.
The FTUB in its activities pays high consideration to the cooperation with international trade union organizations and national trade union centers and organizations of other countries. The FTUB and its member unions cooperate and exchange experience with the national trade union centers of the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (former Soviet Union countries) such as Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as with the trade union organizations and associations of other countries such as Brazil, Bulgaria, Czech, China, Cube, Cyprus, France, Greece, India, Italy, Latvia, Mongolia, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Syria, Turkey, Venezuela, Vietnam, etc.
Since 1992 the FTUB is affiliated to the General Confederation of Trade Unions (GCTU). The GCTU is a regional international trade union organization, which currently affiliates 40 trade union organizations with a total membership of approximately 50 million workers.
The FTUB also maintains cooperation with the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU), second largest international trade union organization in the world.
Branch trade unions of the FTUB are also affiliated with major branch Global Union Federations (GUF), international associations of trade unions within the General Confederation of Trade Unions and other autonomous international trade union organizations.
